About the game
English Checkers
English Checkers is a board game of tactical movement and captures, also known as Draughts. Choose to play against the computer, online, or with another player on the same screen.
The aim is to make careful moves, capture opposing pieces when possible, and plan ahead for the changing position on the board.
Movement and captures
Regular checkers move one square diagonally forward. When a piece reaches king status, it can move one square diagonally in either direction.
Capturing is mandatory when available. If one of your checkers stands next to an opponent’s piece and the square immediately beyond it is empty, jump over that piece to capture it.
A capture can lead to another capture in the same turn. When a jump creates a new available capture, continue jumping to take the additional pieces.
What to expect
- Play against the computer, online, or locally on one screen.
